Terms of Service

By creating an account or using SciPrep, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. SciPrep is offered free of charge; there is no paid plan today, and the AI features that may become premium in the future are not currently sold.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account; if you are under 13, you need a parent or guardian's involvement and consent, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Do not share your account in a way that abuses the service, and do not create accounts to evade limits or bans.

Keep it constructive. Specifically, please do not:

• Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy the question bank or study content.
• Attempt to break, overload, or probe the security of the service.
• Use SciPrep to cheat during an actual competition, or to help others do so. SciPrep is a study tool for preparation, not a device to bring into a scored event.
• Abuse account sharing, resell access, or misrepresent the service as your own.
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or abusive content in reports or notes.

You keep ownership of the content you create in SciPrep — your per-question notes and the reports and messages you send. To operate the service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content solely to provide SciPrep to you (for example, showing your notes back to you) and to act on the reports you submit.

We do not claim ownership of your notes and we do not use them for anything beyond running the features described here.

The study guides, lessons, and questions on SciPrep are provided for your personal study use. You may use them to prepare; you may not republish, redistribute, or sell them. All rights in the SciPrep name, design, and original content remain with SciPrep.

SciPrep is an independent study platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Science Olympiad, Inc. Event names and topics are referenced descriptively so students know what they are studying — that reference does not imply any partnership.

SciPrep is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep the content accurate, but a study platform is not an official answer key: questions can contain mistakes, explanations can be imperfect, and AI-generated responses can be wrong. Always verify important facts against authoritative sources, and use SciPrep as one tool among several.

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.

In plain terms: SciPrep is a free tool built by one person, and to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of it — including missed questions, competition outcomes, or reliance on content that turned out to be inaccurate. You use SciPrep at your own discretion.

You can stop using SciPrep and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms — for example, scraping the content or abusing the service. We will act reasonably and, where practical, give notice.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SciPrep is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

We may update these terms as SciPrep grows. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, make a reasonable effort to flag them in the app. Continuing to use SciPrep after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions? Get in touch.
